Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa
Great service from CCH to start with. Hotel and staff absolutely superb, you are made so welcome and to feel like a person rather than a customer. Accommodation spacious and comfortable, beaches excellent, food varied menu and superb quality (extensive wine list but unfortunately too pricey, there needs to be a range of lower priced wines the current range makes you feel you are being ripped off). Access to the sites easy using complimentary shuttle to the "dockyard" and ferries or taxis from the hotel - every taxi driver is a tourist guide. A brilliant place to relax and enjoy the beauty and friendliness of Bermuda.
Royal Savoy, Funchal
Could not fault the hotel for location and facilities. Restaurant service and food quality was superb.
Hotel Antiche Mura, Sorrento
This is a superbly located hotel very close to the main square (Piazza Tasso) in Sorrento. We had a room on the south side, overlooking a little ravine with ruins of an old mill in it. You really wouldn't think you were in the centre of town. Nice room, imaculately kept. Excellent buffet breakfasts in the breakfast room. Although it was just before the start of the main season, there were plenty of facilities open in town. And the hotel is a little under ten minutes walk from the railway station, where there is a good service to the archaeological sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Oplontis, as well as to Naples itself.
Our incoming flight was diverted due to weather, but the promised private transport was waiting for us when we did eventually arrive at Naples airport by road!
Quinta das Vistas Palace Gardens, Funchal
Overall an excellent holiday. The hotel has an outstanding location with a magnificent view of Funchal Bay, that can be enjoyed from both the indoor/outdoor overflow pool and from the restaurant terrace. The quality of the food was the outstanding feature of the hotel. Staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The only negative feature of consequence was the bathroom which had poor lighting and out of date facilities. Whilst the bedroom could have benefited by the provision of tea/coffee/ice facilities. Overall, however, this is a hotel to be highly recommended. Although a short way from the centre of Funchal it enjoys a free hotel shuttle service.
Maritim Jolie Ville Golf & Resort, Um Marikha Bay
Excellent and quiet hotel, wonderful pools and gardens. Great for golf [very pricey] and tennis. Staff great. Classic reps v good and private transfers excellent. Weather disappointing but was great the week before! Naama Bay, about 5 miles away, is the centre for clubbing, night life and general tourism stuff, so we were glad to be situated well away from it. It's the departure point for marine activities; we did one - submarine viewing of fish and coral - which was very disappointing and not worth the cash. Coral is dying, so fish go elsewhere. The Ras Mohammed National Park is, apparently, much better. If the sea life is not good, there is not a lot else to see without going on very long trips.
Vik Hotel San Antonio, Puerto del Carmen
Enjoyed this holiday very much. Hotel was excellent, staff friendly and helpfull. Good selection of food,rooms clean and comfortable. couldn't fault it.Rep was at the airport to make sure our transport was waiting, and coming home taxi was right on time.
Suite Hotel Eden Mar, Funchal
This is a first class hotel with excellent staff who were very friendly and helpful and the food was first class as was the accommdation.This was our 5th visit to the hotel and it has been consistently good so won't be our last .
Minos Palace, Agios Nikolaos
Of all the places we have been to in Greece, this one stands out as the best. The hotel is superbly run, it stands on a beautiful site and the entire experience has been outstanding. The staff are great and the food was exceptional in both quality and its variety. We leave later this morning with great reluctance.
Quinta Jardins do Lago, Funchal
Just returned from our third visit to this hotel. Please do not tell anyone else about it as we do not want them to know how absolutely marvellous it is. No adverse comments at all. Staff excellent, food fabulous, gardens superb, room terrific (including secret passageway to private roof terrace), trips well organised with good local knowledge. Can't wait to return (but next time I would rather swim than travel via EasyJet!)
Hotel Belair, Sorrento
Look no further! This hotel is excellent. From the moment you arrive to the moment you regretably have to leave the staff do everything they can to make your stay so enjoyable and memorable. The hotels location ensures that every room has a wonderful view over the Bay of Sorrento, Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. It is only a short walk into Sorrento (10mins) and there are local buses which stop outside the hotel should you prefer to ride into the town. The rooms (ours was a superior room) are large and well decorated, the double bed was massive, sitting area or sofa bed and super bathroom. The real plus was the wonderful view from the balcony over the harbours and Sorrento town (very pretty at night) The food at the hotel is excellent and the restaurant staff especially the manager Michele ensure you enjoy every meal and experience to the full. reception staff are very friendly and always ready to give you help and advice regarding trips and the best ways to get around the area. Pompeii,Herculeum, Vesuvius, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and Capri are all beautiful places to visit.
In short we couldn't have found a better hotel or improved on our holiday.
The Cliff Bay, Funchal
We were recommended this 5* hotel by the travel agent at Bath Travel for our 40th wedding anniversary. Bath Travel were really helpful & efficient. The flight (Easyjet) was acceptable, private transfers all on time & the hotel outstanding. The sea-view room on the 7th floor was enormous & spotless with complimentary wine, minibar & flowers on arrival. Facilities (bars, breakfasts, pools, spa etc) plentiful, high quality & never crowded. The classic rep (Sue) was superb & arranged everything with the minimum of fuss & left a massive bouquet. The thing that made the trip were the hotel staff (all of them without exception) were incredible. They were always helpful & cheerful. On our last day, our actual anniversary, they gave us a lovely dinner plus Madeira and sparkling wine and when we finished told us it was all complimentary (we were on B&B). Superb, could find no fault & would recommend to anyone. We will be returning in May.
Hesperia Villamil, Paguera
Flight from Bournemouth, so easy, private transfer from Palma, so easy! Hotel ideally located, on the beach to the rear and on the main street to the front. Lovely beach and very safe bay to swim in the sea. Very German resort but no problem with that, loads of shops, cafes, bars etc. Really buzzing without being rowdy, ideal for families and couples
Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi, Amalfi
The views from this hotel are breathtaking. Lots of history, as it is a converted convent. Superb food. Our transfers with Classic Collection were extremely good, especially the Amalfi coast drive.
Hotel Belair, Sorrento
The staff at this hotel are excellent, nothing too much trouble and extremely friendly. The food was wonderful, four courses of tasty italian food. All the rooms have a sea view and small balcony. Our rep Lucca was very helpful and we did book a trip to pompeii and Herculanium in a small minibus. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel
Hotel S'Algar, S'Algar
Good flight from Liverpool, just a pity that easyJet only operate for only part of summer season. Seamless onward transport from Menorca Airport. Excellent hotel,quiet position on sea front, no children under 12, have been before, food good, but main course at dinner sometimes disappointing. Would have preferred waiter service - generally smaller selection, but better quality, in my opinion. Hope to go again next year.
Tivoli Carvoeiro, Carvoeiro
We enjoyed our holiday at the Tivoli Carvoeiro. The hotel is in a fantastic postion over hanging a beautiful bay where we swam every day. The staff in the hotel were extremely polite and attentive and spoke very good English. The bar had an amazing view overlooking the sea and served very good cocktails. The room and bathroom was very clean although it could do with a lick of paint. There were plenty of comfortable sunloungers and parasols and it was peaceful around the pool and the garden area to the side which overlooked the sea. The breakfasts were very good with a wide variety of first class food. The beautician was very good. This is a hotel we will return to for a relaxing and happy holiday.
Hotel Daina, Puerto Pollensa
I had a lovely 3 week holiday at the Hotel Daina, Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca this year. My 8th year at this hotel, my third 3 week holiday there and my second holiday with Classic Collection. The hotel had been refurbished for last year and there were lots more improvements at this lovely hotel for this year. The staff are friendly and speak excellent English, and the cleanliness and service is superb here. The outside pool is lovely with plenty of sunbeds for everyone, and the food is delicious. I always stay half board. Classic Collection were marvellous in making all the arrangements for me, through my local Travel Agent, and Lynne, the resort rep was brilliant. I was met at Palma Airport by a Classic Collection rep at 10.30 p.m. and the quick private transfer to my hotel was marvellous. I have already booked the same 3 weeks next year at this hotel with Classic Collection and would recommend them to anyone, and the hotel, which is on the beach, has an outdoor pool and is right in the town centre too. A perfect location.
Hotel Plaza, Sorrento
We have just had the most fantastic holiday; myself, my husband, 11 year-old son and 6 year-old daughter. I can't pretend that it wasn't expensive because it was. Eating out and drinks were expensive, however, the train from Sorrento to Naples that takes you to destinations such as Pompei and Herculaneum was inexpensive. Both these locations are absolutely brilliant and excellent value for money. Take advantage of the train instead of the excursions; it's much, much cheaper and very easy to get about. Capri is worth a visit but is expensive. Our hotel was superb; clean, comfortable with welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. The land-train excursion around the island was very good and good value for money. The excursion to Mount Vesuvius was fantastic and also good value. It's a sight-seeing holiday and don't go for the beaches. Sorrento is a lovely place but not much to do there except shop, eat and relax, hence we went for the places to go nearby, as mentioned above.
Melia Madeira Mare Resort & Spa, Funchal
We are a mature couple who have just returned from a two week stay at this Hotel.This is a 5 star Hotel and lives up to its rating in every aspect.The reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful with many having a good command of the English language.We had paid extra for a room with a sea view,but on arrival we were told that such a room was unavailable,so we were upgraded to a Master Suite at no extra cost.The Hotel is modern,about two years old,and the rooms are extremely well furnished,clean and the daily maid service is of a very high standard.A good variation of food is available for breakfast from continental to full english and the evening meal prices are quite comparable to those charged at outside local restaurants.We did not use the indoor pool as the weather was favourable to be able to use the outside one,which was well looked after by the attendant.There are 105 poolside loungers with mattresses and 50 plus sun shades.Towels are issued daily on production of a ticket,which is free of charge.You will only incur a 25 euro charge if you fail to present your ticket on your day of leaving.All in all, a wonderful place to spend a holiday,all in all, a very well run and organised Hotel.Our only regret is that we did not have two weeks there
Maritim Jolie Ville Resort & Casino, Na'ama Bay
I don't normally do reviews but had to write to say how fantastic the CCH Reps were on our recent trip to Sharm. We were met at Arrivals by the Rep and shepherded through Passport control and Security like film stars and in to our waiting car. We didn't use the onsite Rep as we were there to go diving but the Departure process was as smooth as Arrivals and made the whole thing stress free. We will definitely be using Classic again and will be recommending to Friends and Workmates
Jardin Tropical, Costa Adeje
This was my first booking with Classic Collection, my first visit to Tenerife and a first visit to the Canary Islands. I sought a trip that would provide me with ample opportunity for rest and relaxation. Jardin Tropical was perfect. Such a warm welcome on arrival including a lovely glass of cava. The hotel is a stunning oasis of calm within beautiful landscaped gardens, wonderful restaurants and deliciously comfortable bedrooms. The spa facilities offer a great choice with treatments for every pampering need delivered by very friendly and professional staff. The service of all staff was amazing and I tasted some of the loveliest cocktails! The hotel is situated in a central area with access to shops and restaurants. The transfers were quick and efficient and the local representative was very knowledgeable about the local area and island. I got all the R&R that I needed from this superb trip and would definitely recommend Jardin Tropical.
Aimia Hotel, Puerto de Soller
This was our 8th trip with Classic Collection Holidays which I think probably speaks for itself. The service & organisation provided has always been faultless. Puerto de Soller is a beautiful place set in a bay with plenty of good bars & restaurants. The surrounding countryside is amazing. Trips to Soller, Deia & Valldemossa are a must. All can be reached by public transport if you don't fancy driving.The Aimia Hotel is excellent having friendly helpful staff most of whom speak excellent English. The only slight disadvantage is that the dinner menu is restricted to two dishes a day, however the quality is excellent so no major complaints there. This was our second visit to the Aimia Hotel in 5 years & probably will not be our last.
Lindian Village, Lardos Bay
Our holiday at Lindian Village was sublime - nothing to fault; everything was brilliant. We were pampered by superb staff. The Lindian Village resort was a haven. A wonderful place to unwind with a stream winding through and beautiful gardens in full bloom. All the staff were courtesy and made all guests genuinely welcome and went beyond to ensure we had a happy holiday. Cuisine was good and varied. Our courier was attentive and efficient on the stop with transfers to hotel to and from airport. When
we had delays at the airport he stayed with us until departure lounge. His service was commendable. We will certainly book again.
Mezzatorre Resort & Spa, Forio, Ischia
The connections and transfers with yourselves,Classic Collection were really first class.The Hotel Mezzatorre Resort&Spa was superb.The service,the Spa facilities and espescially the food and the service in the restaurant was quite brilliant.
We will certainly want to go again.
Gran Melia Victoria, Palma
10 days spent in Palma at the Gran Melia Victoria was amazing. The service at the Hotel by all the staff, from the Receptionists to the Chambermaid was first class and couldn't be faulted. This Hotel is in a perfect location with breathtaking views of the Marina and the Cathedral and within walking distance of the whole of Palma. I could recommend this Hotel and location to anyone. A brilliant holiday all round.
