Sophie Thackeray - Sales Executive and TV Star

In this edition of 'Behind the Scenes' we say hello to Sophie Thackeray, one of our on-the-road Sales Executives whos job it is to liaise and visit our supporting travel agents across the country. Sophie’s role involves offering training and support to our travel agents alongside hosting educational trips and representing Classic, at conferences and events. For many of our Agents who have met Sophie at various events and educational resort visits they will know that she requires no introduction. For those that have not.... Background:

As a “lovie” for seven years at the New Theatre Oxford Sophie found her passion for the spotlight and after working overseas as a holiday rep for several years, this was combined with a passion for travel. Before landing her dream job at Classic Collection Holidays, Sophie was a retail travel manager for a well known tour operator. When we asked Sophie what attracted her to working for Classic she replied, ‘It was a total punt as the advert said Bristol based and very part time – neither of which suited me as I don’t live near Bristol and didn’t want part time. But hey look how great it all turned out!’ We call that fate! So Sophie, what’s your favourite thing about working for Classic? ‘Representing an award winning highly thought of company is wonderful. I have the support of the team in Worthing and I get to go to lots of glamorous events and experience our luxury hotels.’ When Sophie’s not working for Classic she is busy appearing on national TV! Our star-studded sales executive has appeared on shows such as Channel 4’s Four Rooms where Sophie tried to sell her prized Adam Ant shirt, Britain’s Secret Shopper and ITV’s Alan Titchmarsh Show. With many more appearances in the pipeline, get your autographs in quick!

Sophie’s destination Hot Spots

Being a television star, where are your top destination hot spots? ‘Italy ticks all the boxes for me! Shopping, beaches, scenery and great food!’ And where would your top hotel be? ‘I would like to go to Gloria Verde Resort in Belek. It is in a stunning location and the spa looks fantastic!'

Life outside the office and studio:

When not appearing on TV or sunning herself on a fabulous beach Sophie loves to shop and spend time with her family. Sophie’s favourite song, which comes as no surprise is Barbie Girl by Aqua.
