Classic Collection Holidays would like to invite you to wine and dine in style at the Porto Cervo Wine Festival in Costa Smeralda, Sardinia on 17-19 May 2013. This year sees the 5th edition of the wine festival and is set to be one of its finest yet. With sixty wineries representing major Italian oenological regions it is a must for all wine enthusiasts, and this year – lovers of fashion! With over 250 labels to taste over the three day festival you will be sure to broaden and indulge your oenological knowledge.

New for 2013 is the much anticipated Fashion Wine Walk which incorporates fantastic wine with some of Porto Cervo’s Piazzetta’s most exclusive clothing brands. Tastings will take place on the Saturday between 6pm and 10pm at the heart of village in the boutiques where you can meet the winemaker, or sommelier whilst viewing this summer’s latest collections.
The Women of Wine event opens the first of several meetings of the event. Taking place on the Friday 5pm and hosted by the “Associazione Nazionale Le Donne Del Vino” (The Women of Wine National Association), it will celebrate 25 years of the association and female producers, wine sellers, restaurant owners and sommeliers. The talk is hosted by Valentina Argiolas of the renowned Sardinian Argiolas wineries and will offer a fantastic insight into the role of women in the wine and oenological industries.
How to become a sommelier in 50 minutes
If you are a lover of fine dining and dinner parties we recommend that you attend a show hosted by Leonardo Romanelli, journalist and food & wine expert from Tuscany. Romanelli will bring his skills and knowledge to the stage on Saturday from 5pm. Equally The Menu for Bacchus sees two gourmet Sardinian dinners created by two young chefs of the island. On Saturday the second is hosted at Hotel Cervo’s Il Grill Restaurant where Oliver Piras of La Corte del Lampone Restaurant will create traditional dishes with an exciting twist to enjoy alongside a fabulous glass of Sardinian wine. The festival takes place at the Cervo Conference Centre on 17-19 May 2013 between 3pm and 7pm, although other talks and show times may vary. The festival is open to the public and costs €15.00 per person. All proceeds will benefit AIRC, Italian Association for Cancer Research. Please note that this event is strictly for those over the age of 18 years.
