After breakfast catch your light aircraft flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. After a 45 minute scenic flight land in Amboseli National Park and transfer to Tortilis Camp where you will stay for two nights. Enjoy your first game drive en route to the camp arriving in time for lunch. Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli is set in one of Amboseli’s areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland and enjoys views of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro, the world’s highest free-standing mountain. Rise early to witness the African plains’ game wake up. Enjoy a bush breakfast. Return to the lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon choose either seeing the wilderness from a different perspective on a guided walking safari, or take another game drive. Both activities conclude with sunset cocktails before returning to camp for dinner.
An early morning game drive before breakfast. Transfer back to the Amboseli airstrip for a light aircraft flight to Meru National Park. You will be met at the airstrip in Meru and transferred to Elewanta Elsa’s Kopje Meru, one of the most elegant lodges in Africa in one of the most spectacular of settings. On arrival at the lodge you will be offered a relaxing massage, or alternatively, a game drive before dinner. Stay at Elewana Elsa’s Kopje Meru for 2 nights on a full board basis.
A wild and semi-arid landscape, dotted with doum palms and criss-crossed by multiple rivers, Meru National Park offers excellent game watching opportunities and is one of the best locations for viewing rhino in their natural habitat. The park’s rich wildlife diversity includes a number of rare species that are specific to Northern Kenya including Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe and a sanctuary at the heart of Meru is home to over seventy black and white rhino. Your best chance of spotting the wildlife is early in the morning or late afternoon, so rise early this morning and head off into the wilderness. Return for lunch and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Explore further on an afternoon game drive with sundowner drinks served overlooking the park before returning in time for dinner.
This morning enjoy a brisk nature walk and views from the hill which forms the Kopje upon which the camp is built. The rest of the morning is at leisure until lunch is served overlooking the park. Afterwards, head for Nanyuku airport for the 90 minute flight to Maasai Mara, landing in the reserve. Transfer to the camp with a game drive en route. Stay at Elewana Sand River Maasai Mara for 2 nights on a full board basis.
This morning’s option of activities includes a visit to a traditional Maasai village, a Manyatta, to gain an insight into the Maasai tribes’ culture, or a guided walking safari, or opt for an adventurous hot air balloon safari* over the plains (additional cost). Then head out with a picnic hamper lunch to be served in the wild on a game drive. Return to camp for a farewell dinner.
Enjoy a bush breakfast and a game drive before returning to camp for lunch. Mid-afternoon transfer to the Keekorok airstrip for the light aircraft flight to Wilson airport in Nairobi. Transfer to Nairobi’s international airport for your return flight to the UK.
