Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Nairobi.

Today after breakfast you leave for Amboseli National Park arriving in time for lunch. The Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge nestles within a grove of acacia trees, looking out over the golden savannah plains and with uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy your first game drive in the afternoon. Stay at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge, for 2 nights on a full board basis.
Dominated by the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro just across the border in Tanzania, Amboseli is a landscape of open plains, acacia woodland, swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok. It is one of Kenya’s most popular game parks and is famous for its excellent wildlife viewing of Maasai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah and is also known as one of the best places in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants. The swamplands, fed by meltwater from Kilimanjaro, attract wallowing hippos and elephants and is particularly rich in birdlife. Spend the day on morning and afternoon game drives and a visit to a Maasai village. Enjoy a sundowner at Observation Hill (minimum 4 people).
After breakfast return to Nairobi stopping at Carnivore Restaurant for lunch before arriving at Wilson airport for your light aircraft flight to the Maasai Mara airstrip. On arrival you will be met and taken on a game drive on the way to your lodge. The Mara Serena Lodge is located deep within the Maasai Mara National Reserve and set high on a bush-cloaked hill it ensures spectacular views over the rolling grasslands, and a front row seat during the legendary annual wildebeest migration, normally taking place from July to October. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is famed for some of the most dramatic wildlife viewing in Africa with the legendary annual wildebeest migration taking centre stage from July to October. An exceptionally wildlife-rich reserve the chances are high of spotting Africa’s Big Five as well as Maasai giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas and an array of antelopes amidst its rolling grassland and wide-open savannah. Spend a further two days in the Mara reserve with morning and afternoon game drives in search of the abundant wildlife, returning for lunch each day. There is an optional* visit to a Maasai village, or an exhilarating hot air balloon safari over the plains for a different perspective.
After breakfast, pick up your picnic lunch and head to the Mara airstrip for your flight to Nairobi’s Wilson airport for a connecting flight to Kilimanjaro and onwards to the Seronera airstrip via Arusha airport. On arrival late afternoon transfer to your lodge to freshen up and enjoy dinner. Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is located high on a tree clad ridge with spectacular views across the Serengeti, designed to blend in with the surrounding landscape with a series of traditional rondavels dotted throughout the grounds. At the heart of the magnificent Serengeti National Park is the popular Central Serengeti region. This vast landscape of savannah plains features abundant, year-round wildlife, which peaks with the annual migration of more than two million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles, closely followed by their predators, moving across the grasslands in search of pasture and water. During your stay you will head out on morning and afternoon game drives in search of Serengeti’s plentiful wildlife; look out for lion and cheetah lying in the sun on the rocky granite outcrops known as kopjes. Return to the lodge each day for lunch.
From the Serengeti move on to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for the next three nights, staying in a safari lodge perched on the jagged rim of the crater and sensitively designed to blend in with its surroundings whilst affording endless vistas over the crater. Arrive in time for lunch with an afternoon at leisure before dinner. Stay at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge for 3 nights on a full board basis.
Within the crater rim of this collapsed volcano a daily drama is played out as large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze alongside lion, leopard, elephant and black rhino. Spend the following two days on game drives across the crater, enjoying a picnic for lunch. At the end of an action-packed day you can follow the nature trail that loops around the safari lodge, through moss-hung glades and plunging ravines, or take an escorted walk to the crater’s rim, or simply relax and watch as the sun dips behind the mountains.
After breakfast pick up your packed lunch and drive to Kilimanjaro for your flight to Nairobi. On arrival you will be meet and taken for a farewell dinner before transferring to Nairobi’s international airport for your return flight to the UK.
