Day 1– Flying from the UK to Nairobi, Kenya

Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Kenya

Day 2 – Arrival into Nairobi 

Be met by your English-speaking driver/guide at Nairobi airport and transferred to your hotel, Hemingways Nairobi. A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World this elegant boutique hotel boasts magnificent views of the nearby Ngong Hills. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Stay at Hemingways Nairobi for 1 night with breakfast included on Day 3. 

Day 3 – Nairobi to Maasai Mara 

After breakfast at your hotel transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson airport and a light aircraft flight to Naboisho airstrip and a short game drive en route to the camp. Settle in to camp, enjoy lunch, relax and get to know your surroundings. The stunning Ol Seki Hemingways camp is set in the Naboisho Conservancy, a wildlife conservation area bordering the Maasai Mara Reserve. If offers an incredibly exclusive safari experience as the conservancy only allows entry to guests staying inside the area. You will stay in one of ten exclusive and beautifully designed tents nestling amidst acacia and cordia trees attracting an abundance of wildlife and birds. Stay at Ol Seki Hemingways Mara. Stay at Ol Seki Hemingways Mara for 4 nights on a full board basis including afternoon tea.

Day 4-6 – Maasai Mara 

The famous Maasai Mara region offers a great chance of seeing Africa’s Big Five, the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, as well as whole host of other wildlife including giraffe, hyena, impala and buffalo amongst others. For each of your days here there is a shared morning and afternoon game drive in 6-8 seater safari land cruisers. Also included is a bush breakfast (weather permitting), two day and one night time game drive in the Naboisho Conservancy which has one of the highest lion densities in the world and is also home to Kenya’s rare wild dog. Optional tours* include visit to a Maasai village to learn about the native way of life, or a magical hot air balloon ride over the vast savannah ending with a bush breakfast.

Day 7– Maasai Mara to Diani Beach  

After breakfast leave for the Naboisho airstrip and your light aircraft flight to Ukunda, arriving mid afternoontransfer to your hotel in Diani BeachWaterlovers Beach Resort sits on the tropical shores of the Indian Ocean and is more luxury beachside lodge than resort hotel and features an inviting infinity pool right by the beach, a bijou spa and gardens full of colourful bird life and visiting monkeys, and comfortable seating areas ideal for lounging and reading. Stay at Waterlovers Beach Resort, Diani Beach for 7 nights on a full board basis.

Day 8-13 – Diani Beach 

Free time for the rest of your stay to explore independently and enjoy relaxing or activity filled days in Diani Beach, where warm waters and exquisite coral reefs provide ideal opportunities for snorkelling, scuba diving and boat safaris. There is big game fishing outside the barrier reef, or try one of the many water sports available (additional costs). Or you could simply make the most of the pristine beach, relaxing under the tropical sun, swim in the inviting waters and go for romantic strolls along the white sands. On dry land there is the Colobus Conservation which provides a sanctuary for the endangered Angolan Colobus monkey or the small Shimba Hills National Reserve.

Day 14 – Return to the UK 

Leave in the afternoon for the internal flight from Ukunda to Nairobi’s Wilson airport and transfer to Nairobi’s international airport for your return flight to the UK.
