Early morning arrival. Be met by our English-speaking representative at Cape Town International airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Stay at O on Kloof Boutique Hotel for 3 nights on a bed & breakfast basis.
Cape Town boasts several museums, the stunning Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Robben Island can only be visited on a guided tour lasting around three-four hours including ferry rides and due to its popularity booking in advance is highly recommended. A visit to the top of the mighty Table Mountain by aerial cableway is a must. If there is time drive the 70km to Cape Point and catch the Flying Dutchman Funicular; travel through dense foliage and fynbos plants to the upper lighthouse and be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Atlantic, with sunrise or sunset especially good times.
Your rental car will be delivered to the hotel this morning for you to set off on the 386km drive to the seaside town of Mossel Bay, the first stopover on your journey along the celebrated Garden Route. Mossel Bay in the Western Cape boasts pristine blue flag beaches, fine seafood and an array of water and land based sports for the active, plus a rich historic heritage. Stay at Diaz Hotel & Resort Mossel Bay, Mossel Bay for 1 night on a bed & breakfast basis.

There are optional excursions* available to an ostrich farm with lunch included, or you could join a tour of the dramatic Cango Caves, where you duck, crawl and manoeuvre as you make your way through the enchanting limestone caverns. If time permits the town also makes a great base for exploring slightly further afield in the Little Karoo region. Stay at Surval Boutique Olive Estate, Oudtshoorn for 1 night on a bed & breakfast basis.
Depart for the charming seaside town of Knysna, famous for its oysters and set around a natural harbour lagoon with Knysna Heads, two imposing sea cliffs, protecting the entrance to the lagoon. Check in to your chic hotel set in the heart of the town and enjoy an afternoon exploring the town or a boat trip on the lagoon. Stay at The Rex Hotel, Knysna for 2 nights on a bed & breakfast basis.
After a leisurely breakfast you could enjoy an optional tour* to the Featherbed Nature Reserve with its abundance of plants, birds and small wildlife. Board the ferry across to the reserve and you can catch a trailer ride up to the headland stopping to enjoy the stunning views, or choose the 2.2km guided walk through the coastal forest, both ending with a sumptuous buffet lunch.
Enjoy breakfast before heading out on the almost 100km drive to Storms River and the Tsitsikamma National Park, your last stop along the Garden Route.
