This five-hour excursion takes you to the heart of the most famous Roman city in the world. Our day begins at 8:00, when you’ll be collected from your hotel by a luxury coach. To reach Pompeii, we’ll wend our way along the Amalfi coastline – famed for its untamed beauty and beautifully dramatic scenery. The route also passes through the captivating villages of Conca dei Marini, Furore and Praiano, where you’ll be enchanted by the snapshot of local life you’ll see as we pass through.

After this pleasant hour and a half journey, we’ll reach Pompeii. Famous for being buried in up to six metres of mud and ash from the huge explosion of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to the incredible preservation of vast areas of the Roman city the volcanic material caused. The excavated area of Pompeii extends across an impressive 44 hectares, providing an abundance of opportunities to explore old Roman streets, preserved buildings and ancient objects. Although two thirds of Pompeii has been excavated, archaeological works in the city are ongoing, meaning there are regularly new surprises for visitors too. We’ll take you on a guided tour of Pompeii with an expert who can recount fascinating facts, hidden stories and historical accounts about Pompeii.

After you have explored Pompeii and soaked up all the information the expert guide has shared, you’ll climb back aboard the luxury coach and return to your hotel in Amalfi.

This trip begins at 8:00, when you’ll be collected from your hotel by luxury coach. From there we’ll travel along the picturesque and unspoiled Amalfi coastline, passing through charming villages such as Furore and Praiano. After this enchanting start to the day, we’ll arrive in Pompeii after an hour and a half. A Roman city that was buried by mud and ash after the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii is considered the only true archaeological example of a Roman city in the world. The excavated area extends across an area of 44 hectares, providing ample opportunity for you to soak up the feeling of a preserved Roman city on our expert guided tour. Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to wander around a little more and have some lunch.

Afterwards, we’ll visit the geographical phenomenon responsible for Pompeii’s fate. Travelling up Mount Vesuvius to 1,000 metres by coach, we’ll walk the rest of the way to the volcano’s summit, escorted by an expert guide. You’ll have the incredible opportunity to walk the rim of the volcano and explore the southern part Vesuvius. In clear weather, this is also the perfect spot for impeccable views across the Gulf of Naples, with everywhere from Sorrento to the island of Ischia laid out before your eyes. At the end of the day, we’ll return to Amalfi via a fascinating cameo and coral factory.

A must-visit for anyone with an interest in the Romans and the overwhelming power of nature, the archaeological sites of both Pompeii and Herculaneum are included in this excursion.

We’ll collect you from your hotel on a luxury coach for this eight-hour excursion and we’ll travel straight to Pompeii for you to make the most of your day of archaeological discovery. We’ll spend about two hours in Pompeii, where you’ll embark on a guided tour with an expert guide to explore the former Roman commercial centre where time stopped on the night of 24 August 79 AD. Buildings, roads and objects were all preserved under approximately six metres of mud and ash when Vesuvius erupted, and 44 hectares of the city has been excavated for you to see today. You’ll also have some free time for lunch, before we carry on to Herculaneum by coach.

Herculaneum was a residential town that was also buried in mud and ash from the Vesuvius eruption, and a visit here offers an alternative insight into life during the Roman Empire. We’ll spend another two hours in this coastal archaeological site where another expert guide will tell you about everything that continues to be discovered about Herculaneum. You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and capture a true feeling of the former town.

After a day spent walking around these fascinating excavations in the Campania region, we’ll return to Amalfi via a renowned cameo and coral atelier that makes the most of the local natural environment in its creations.

The boat trip to the island is very much part of the experience, with glorious views of the Amalfi coast, Campanella Cape and the Sorrento coastline. An island known for its rugged beauty, luxurious boutiques and mouth-watering cuisine, your day in Capri will offer opportunities to enjoy the full island experience. On arrival, you’ll be picked up by a private minibus to enjoy a guided tour of the island. This includes a visit to Anacapri – the higher part of the island centring on Mount Solaro. Here you’ll stop at Villa St Michele – which was built by the Swedish doctor and author Axel Munthe on the remains of some Roman ruins – for exceptional views of the island from the bewitching garden.

We’ll return to the town of Capri, where you can take your pick of tantalising restaurants for lunch. Afterwards, explore Piazza Umberto I with its pavement cafés, and the Garden of Augustus – which offers a view of the famous Faraglioni rock formations. You’ll also have some free time to browse the island’s luxury boutiques, before returning to Amalfi by boat.

This five-hour afternoon excursion travels along the coastline from Amalfi to Positano, including stops to enjoy coastal secrets along the way.

The excursion begins in a private boat from Amalfi with an expert guide. Your first stop is the Emerald Grotto – an incredible natural wonder that you’ll get a closer look at from a traditional wooden boat. Continuing along the coastline, you’ll take in the bay at Conca dei Marini and some of the most luxurious villas along this stretch of coast. Your experience will also allow you to take in the spectacular geography of the area, from natural arches to the Furore Fjord with its narrow gorge that cuts inland from the sea. At Positano, it’s time to disembark the boat and enjoy a stroll around the picturesque town. The eight-hour trip commences with a hotel pick-up by luxury coach at 8:00, before we make our way to Paestum – the capital of buffalo mozzarella cheese. The region is widely hailed to be the locality where the best and most authentic buffalo mozzarella cheese is produced. An exclusive visit to a mozzarella farm will allow you to see how buffalo mozzarella is created from start to finish. Learn how water buffalos are reared to produce the creamiest milk and observe the expert techniques that go into producing the most delectable buffalo mozzarella cheese. While mozzarella made from cows milk is mild and tender, buffalo mozzarella is more succulent with a stronger flavour. This visit includes an all-important tasting session!

Following on from this traditional Italian culinary treat, we’ll travel to the archaeological site of Paestum, where ancient ruins amid greenery, hills and gardens can be discovered. Paestum was an Ancient Greek city that was founded in approximately 600 BC. Abandoned in the Early Middle Ages, Paestum was rediscovered largely undisturbed in the 18th century. From majestic Doric temples, city walls and an amphitheatre, to a museum filled with locally excavated objects – including a set of Greek tomb paintings – this is a serene and history-steeped spot to spend some time. We’ll give you time to explore the area at your leisure and enjoy the greenery and historical importance of the locality, before returning to your hotel by coach in the afternoon.

You’ll start this three-hour food experience in style with a welcome glass of Prosecco accompanied by Bruschetta at Tirabusciò Restaurant. Indulging in the best of Italian hospitality is just the beginning, and you’ll hear more from an expert chef about what traditional Neapolitan cuisine entails. You’ll also find out more about the best local ingredients and the dishes that can be made with them.

Next, you’ll get hands on in the kitchen and start preparing a three course meal of your choice. The expert chef will guide you through all the culinary options so you can choose something that perfectly suits your taste. Starters could be a fresh caprese salad or aubergine parmeggiana, and you’ll prepare the ingredients according to the chef’s instructions.
