Situated at the southern end of the island, nestling against the warm waters of the Bali Sea, Seminyak is bursting with sweeping beaches, trendy boutiques and popular restaurants.
An attractive seaside holiday destination, the area makes good use of its coast line with popular beach cafes, shops and clubs lining the seafront. A cool and breezy atmosphere engulfs the beaches, with surfers taking to the waves while onlookers lounge at beachside cafés. Beach clubs offer fantastic evening entertainment, with music and cocktails on tap and the sunset forming a glorious backdrop.
Away from the beach, the main shopping streets hum with life. Scooters and motorbikes line the streets and an array of air-conditioned shops, cafes and eateries hug the curb. Although more expensive than further inland, there are still deals to be found in the abundance of trendy stores and shopping centres.
Though a bustling modern resort there are oases of calm to be found. One being Petitenget Temple which is said to be Seminyak’s cultural core. A window into the more traditional Bali, visitors can explore the temple, gardens and enjoy scenic views. Its purpose originally believed to be for warding off bad spirits, the area now offers a quiet place for reflection and Buddhist worship.
