There’s even an eighteen-hole golf course close to town.
Menaggio’s compact cobblestone centre adjoins its riverside promenade, which is dotted with outdoor cafes and shops. From town, stroll the ancient Roman road that takes you all the way to Rezzonico, or head for the craggy heights around Val Menaggio. The town’s pretty lakeshore is lined with flowers, trees, attractive historic buildings and dramatic mountain views. Swimmers and sunbathers might like to visit its lido. Take boat trips around the lake and embark on excursions further afield to gardens and beauty spots. The town has a fine choice of restaurants, as well as general stores and bakeries. on snacks and picnic ingredients. Ferries arrive here from both northern and southern ends of the lake, and then cross the water to Varenna and Bellagio. Buses run to Lake Lugano, and along the lake, making it easy to visit many of Lake Como's attractions.
