Home to the astounding Nevis Peak, the tranquil island of Nevis offers a rare collection of plantation-style hotels in and around the tiny colonial capital of Charlestown. Life seems to move more slowly here, and the locals are warm and welcoming, in a community where everyone knows each other.

Nevis is home to a string of beautiful beaches, quieter than those of its sister island, Saint Kitts, yet with the same silvery sand. Just north of Charlestown, overlooked by a striking crumbling fort, is Pinney’s Beach, which hosts an array of rustic beach bars and polished restaurants. Oualie Beach is a little busier and offers guests plenty of water sports to try their hand at, as well as snorkeling trips.

The rest of the island is peaceful and rural, with small farms and tiny settlements peppering the coastline.
