A valley in between the two mountainous peaks that form a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Val des Pitons is an unrivalled location in St Lucia.
The Pitons are described as two mountainous volcanic plugs along the St Lucia coastline. The area in between Gros Piton and Petit Piton – called Val des Pitons – is a stunning stretch of lush forest and sandy coastline. The white sandy beach between the two peaks is Jalousie Beach. This is the perfect spot for relaxing or enjoying a range of activities out on the water. These include sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking and windsurfing. From here, it’s also possible to kayak to Coral Garden, St Lucia’s well-known coral reef.
Val des Pitons is backed by lush rainforest, so this is a popular area with those who enjoy hiking or cycling trails and guided nature walks. It’s also possible to hike up The Pitons, with some of the most stunning views of St Lucia as the reward.
The town centre of Soufriere is just a short car journey from Val des Pitons, and is a popular spot for shopping and enjoying a blend of Caribbean and European cuisine.
Val des Pitons is all about enjoying St Lucia from the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, blended with the exclusivity of being by one of the island’s best beaches.
