Day 1 – Flying from the UK to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

Be met by our English-speaking representative at Kilimanjaro Airport and be transferred to your hotel on the serene shores of Lake Duluti amidst the woodland slopes of Mount Meru. The calm waters, scenic vistas, and mountain backdrop encapsulates the natural beauty of the region. 

Stay at Arusha serena Hotel Resort & Spa, Lake Duluti, on a bed & breakfast basis for 1 night.

Originally a coffee farm this property evokes its heritage with French doors and leaded windows that open to landscaped lawns and colourful bougainvillea. In addition to a library, lounge and restaurant with a wood-burner fireplace, the hotel offers tailor-made experiences such as an English breakfast on the shore of Lake Duluti, hiking to the summit of Mount Meru or exploring the crater lakes of Arusha National Park. For a relaxing evening, guests can sip sundowner cocktails by the lake and watch the sun set over the horizon. Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast at your hotel, leave for Lake Manyara National Park arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon go for a game drive to see the park’s wildlife. This small park is home to surprising biodiversity and features a magnificent landscape of acacia woodlands, forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. The park supports over 400 species of bird and the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world. Other species to spot include giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, warthog, the Cape clawless otter, and the Egyptian mongoose. Don’t miss the opportunity to see thousands of flamingos on the lake, the renowned tree-climbing lions, and large families of elephants strolling through the forest.

Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge is nestled in a peaceful location within the Lake Manyara National Park, offering a stunning view of Tanzania's Mto Wa Mbu escarpment. Lounge by the vanishing horizon pool, and dine at the Flamingo Restaurant, with the option of arranging a bush meal. 

Day 3 – Lake Manyara National Park to the Central Serengeti

After breakfast at your hotel, leave for the Central Serengeti arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon go for a game drive to see the park’s wildlife. Situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world-famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. The landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite and scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams. The Central Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more.

Stay in stone-built, thatched-roof rondavel lodges, dine under a blanket of stars. The lodge is centrally located near the Western Corridor and Grumeti River and boasts a pool that looks out over the endless plains. Day 4 – Central Serengeti

Enjoy a full day game drive of the Serengeti Park. 

Day 5 – Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro and Lake Magadi 

After breakfast, leave for the UNESCO-listed Ngorongoro Crater and enjoy an afternoon of leisure on arrival at your lodge. 

Lake Magadi is an exquisite salt lake in the Ngorongoro crater. This is a wonderful destination for nature photographers, a scene that changes exquisitely through the seasons, moving through lush greens into striking oranges and bright pinks. Along with the changes come captivating, changing groups of animals including rhino, eland and lion, as well as golden jackals who come to hunt the flamingos. Spread over 11 square kilometres, the lake cultivates a unique ecosystem with its blue-green algae, which nourishes plants and small creatures. The surrounding crater is filled with incredible other natural attractions and a much wider variety of wildlife.

Stay at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge on a full board basis for 2 nights. 

Sitting high on the jagged rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and shrouded in mist, the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is a stunning example of ecological and architectural harmony. The boulder-built buildings of the Lodge are camouflaged by indigenous creepers and linked by timber walkways that skirt ancient trees. The rooms, strung around the crater rim, are adorned with brass lamps, wildwood mirrors, and Maasai carvings, each featuring its own rock-enclosed balcony and uninterrupted views of the Crater below. 

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater

This morning descend 600m to the crater floor for a full day safari exploring the woodlands, lakes and wide-open plains of the crater floor in search of the abundant wildlife. At around 20km across and nearly 300 square km in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest unflooded and unbroken caldera and this natural amphitheatre provides shelter to an estimated 30,000 animals. The open grassland of the crater floor is home to the rare black rhino, elephants, leopards, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, gazelles and it has the densest population of lions in the world and an abundance of pink flamingos can be seen at Lake Magadi.

Day 7  – Ngorongoro to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for lunch followed y an afternoon game drive in the park.  Tarangire National Park is an awe-inspiring national park composed of granite ridges, river valleys, mixed vegetative landscapes, and free-roaming wildlife. During the annual dry season, the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather and not surprisingly the predators follow. With lion being among the most commonly spotted animal, it is a rare day that a visitor does not spot this majestic animal prowling or grazing. Tarangire is also the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as oryx and gerenuk are seen regularly. This expansive area is also known for its spectacular baobab trees, its breathtaking views of the Masaai Steppe and the wondrous mountains to the south.

Built to blend with the vastness of its surroundings, the Lodge nestles amongst the rocky outcrops to the north-east of the park.  As the Lodge is one of only a handful in this park, visitors are often rewarded with an exclusive feel to their safari. 

Day 8 – Return to the UK

After breakfast enjoy a final short game drive before proceeding to Arusha where you will have lunch before the transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your return flight to the UK.
