MS Ambassador Split - Dubrovnik, Split

Venture aboard the M/S Ambassador and delight in a luxury cruise along the Adriatic Sea. Set sail on an enchanting eight-day cruise, beginning your journey on the beautiful beaches of Split and then meander your way down to the historic city of Dubrovnik.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Saturday: Split
Awaiting your arrival, the M/S Ambassador will be docked in Split harbour. Welcoming guests throughout the day, baggage can be dropped off and safely stowed aboard, with cabins ready at 1pm. At 7pm a welcome meeting will be led by the cruise director, who will introduce the captain, crew and other passengers. The welcome dinner will then commence at 7:30pm.

Day 2 Sunday: Split to Omis to the Island of Sipan
After breakfast guests will be taken on a guided tour of the city of Split. With 1700 years worth of history to uncover, the tour aims to show off this impressive UNESCO world heritage site and includes walking through the world famous Diocletian's Palace. At 12pm the M/S Ambassador then sets off on its cruise to Omis. Boasting fantastic beaches, the fortified ancient town of Omis is located on the delta of the Cetina River. Wander through the town of Omis, with its vibrant history as a pirate stronghold, a symbol of retaliation and its long historical fight against the Republic of Venice, adding an air of intrigue to the narrow streets of its old town.

Lunch will then be served back aboard the ship, and the journey will continue to the island of Brac. The ship will then dock in Brac's biggest village, Pucišca. Where three narrow valleys descend, the village enjoys the peaceful setting of the bay. Originally exploited by the Romans in the antiquity era, the area was then later used for the mining of limestone which has been used to build the columns of the white house, Vienna Parliament and many other famous buildings. Guests are free to explore and indulge in delicious cuisine in one of the local restaurants.

Day 3 Monday: Pucišca to Bol to Hvar
Departing Pucišca in the morning, the M/S Ambassador will cruise towards Bol. Known for having one of the finest European beaches, this is a wonderful spot to relax, soak up the sun and cool off in the sea. After you have explored this charming Dalamatian town, lunch will be served on the ship. After lunch the ship will continue to cruise towards Hvar. The meeting point for the international jet setters, guests will be shown around Hvar by an English-speaking guide and learn about the area's lively history, vibrant culture and interesting local customs. Find out how the lavender was traditionally farmed, then explore the area youself and rest in a local taverna for dinner and taste local cuisine.

Day 4 Tuesday: Hvar to Bisevo Blue Cave to Vis
The day will begin with a cruise over to the Island of Bisevo. With the Blue Cave offering a unique and exciting stop off point, guests can marvel at the mystical blue light that reflects off the white rock that adorns the depths of the cave. After this excursion the cruise will continue its journey to the island of Hvar. High waves can result in the cave being unreachable, therefore the entrance fee shall be paid on the spot. The cruise will then continue to Vis. Beautifully unique, the island of Vis offered a strategic military stronghold for centuries. Relatively untouched by tourist development the island retains its unspoilt beaches, ecological agriculture and charming traditional architecture. Spend the afternoon delving into Vis town and fall in love with its untouched charm.

Day 5 Wednesday: Vis to Korcula
In the morning the ship will set off for Korcula, with guests enjoying lunch and a swim en route. A local guide will then give you a tour of the island's main settlement, the town of Korcula, known as the birth place of the famed adventurer Marco Polo. Explore the town's cobbled streets and in the evening relish in the freedom to explore alone and indulge in the enticing cuisine served at one of the town's local restaurants.

Day 6 Thursday: Korcula to National Park Mljet to the island of Sipan or Slano
After breakfast the ship will journey to the picturesque National Park Mljet. Here you will have the afternoon and evening to yourself to explore the area, wander around the Great and Small Lake, visit the Islet of St. Mary or go swimming in Mljet's pristine natural park.Lunch will then be offered on board the ship. In the afternoon the ship will journey to the Island of Sipan and dock in the peaceful and picturesque fisherman's village of Sipanska Luka. If weather conditions prevent docking in this bay, the ship will instead dock in Slano which is located on the mainland. In the evening a Captain's Dinner will be held with live music for entertainment.

Day 7 Friday: National Park Mljet to Dubrovnik
In the morning you will begin your cruise towards Dubrovnik. Gliding past the shores of Mljet and the Eliphite islands, there will then be a break for a swim and lunch. Once on shore in Dubrovnik, an English speaking guide who will guide you through the numerous historical and cultural points of interest held within this UNESCO World Heritage Listed city. After your tour you are free to explore and enjoy a farewell dinner in one of the City's intimate dining establishments.

Day 8 Saturday: Dubrovnik
After breakfast your journey is at its end. Here you will say farewell to the new friends you have made, and it is up to you whether you continue on to explore more of Croatia, catch a flight to your next destination or return home.
