With a private beach and sweeping views across Lake Maggiore, Hotel Splendid is a great base for a relaxing holiday. About a five-minute walk from the small town of Baveno, Hotel Splendid sits on the edge of the lake and overlooks the famed Borromean Islands. Watch the coming and going of fisherman and tourist boats from the sunlit terrace, or indulge in an aperitif and watch the sun go down - a perfect prelude to dinner. Hotel Splendid’s elegant dining room has panoramic views of the lake, and is an idyllic spot for a candlelit meal, plus you can take advantage of the surrounding gardens for a romantic stroll before bed.
Hotel Splendid also has an outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, which is open between 15 May and 15 September. The onsite spa and wellness centre can really help you experience the full luxury needed from your holiday. Guests have full use of the treatments and spa rooms, including a salt grotto and sauna, available to them. The gymnasium, fitness room and tennis courts ensure that the more active hotel guests are equally well catered for.

Hotel Splendid is about an hour from Milan Malpensa Airport by road and there is car parking available.
With the water on one side and the lush mountains that surround Lake Maggiore on the other, there is plenty to fill your days here. The bustling town of Stresa is a 10-minute drive away and has traditional Italian trattorias, pizzerias and gelaterias, as well as a weekly market. There are regular boat trips to and from the grand Isola Bella and the more rustic, but equally beautiful Isola dei Pescatori, which is full of traditional fish restaurants. The nearby port at Baveno is also a great starting point for boat trips.
Otherwise you can simply enjoy your time at Hotel Splendid, which is one of the few places on the lake to have a sandy beach. Take out a rowing boat and explore the shore, or lie back on one of the many sun loungers and listen to the gently lapping water. There is plenty of shade on offer too - head into the gardens for an afternoon tea and some respite from the sun.
Hotel Splendid will confirm interconnecting rooms on a request basis.
