Beautifully located between carob trees and ancient stone walls in the heart of Val di Noto on the unspoilt Hyblean plateau, a few kilometres south of Ragusa, the family run, wonderfully restored Eremo della Giubiliana dates back to the 12th century. Thick stone walls surround the courtyards and estate buildings whilst the tower overlooks the plateau with its views to Malta and North Africa on clear days.
The Nifosi family extend superb hospitality to visitors, and the individually designed rooms and suites are glorious.
Gastronomic delights creatively based around Sicilian traditions and using the estate’s own produce are a feature of the romantic restaurant set in an ancient refectory of the Knights of the Order of St John, and the wonderful wine cellar housed in a medieval crypt contains the best Sicilian and international wine labels.
The estate uniquely features its own private airfield plus its own archaeological park withartefacts dating back to 3rd century BC. Overlooking the archaeological site is the delightful Asphodelus room which offers massage and beauty treatments.
Not all facilities are complimentary and are subject to seasonal demand.
