Historic building with modern, boutique style interiors and fine dining
Hotel des Balances enjoys a wonderful riverside location in the heart of the old town of Lucerne. Although it did not open its doors as a hotel until 1837, this historically important building dates back to the twelfth century and it has been a popular meeting place throughout the ages; its painted rear façade and delightful riverside restaurant terrace are two of the most photographed motifs of Lucerne.
All guest rooms and suites have recently been completely renovated, blending historical flair with modern design. The award-winning Balances restaurant with its attractive lounge, bar and terrace boasts no fewer than 14 points from the influential French restaurant guide Gault et Millau.
Thanks to its location, the Hotel des Balances makes a perfect base for shopping and sightseeing tours, besides having plenty of attractions of its own, and is situated in a vehicle restricted zone on a flat 650m walk from Lucerne railway station.
We highly recommend..
