The tour takes you to the Mjejane Game Reserve bordering the famous Kruger National Park, then through Eswatini (Swaziland) and Zululand, to the thriving coastal city of Durban and the French corner of the Cape Winelands before arriving in beautiful Camps Bay, just outside of Cape Town.

Day 1 – Flying from the UK to Johannesburg

Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Johannesburg Airport

Day 2 – UK to Johannesburg

Early morning arrival. Be met by your English-speaking representative and transferred to your hotel in Johannesburg. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Stay at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa for 1 night.

Day 3 – Johannesburg to White River

Wake for an early breakfast before setting off for White River. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as you drive along the Panorama Route including the wonderful 26km long Blyde River Canyon. Stop for a visit at the impressive rock features known as Bourke’s Luck Potholes and at God’s Window, a viewing point on the Drakensberg escarpment offering the most beautiful vistas of the panoramic Lowveld more than 900m below and in the distance, Kruger National Park. Continue on to your boutique lodge on the White River Country Estate, renowned for its acclaimed restaurant. Stay at Olivers Restaurant & Lodge, White River for 1 night on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 4&5 – White River to Mjejane Game Reserve

Depart for the Mjejane Game Reserve for a game-rich safari experience. Stay in a colonial style lodge on the banks of the Crocodile River bordering the Kruger National Park, and watch as the wildlife congregate at the on-site waterhole. Enjoy a fine dinner in the restaurant or on the veranda under the glittering African night sky. There are optional* game drives into the famous Kruger National Park on offer and access to the Leopard Creek Golf Course. Stay at Buhala Lodge, Mjejane Game Reserve for 2 nights on a half board basis.

Day 6 – Mjejane Game Reserve to Eswatini, formerly Swaziland

Leave the game reserve and travel to Eswatini (Swaziland), an independent kingdom within the borders of South Africa and renowned for its scenery, wilderness reserves, crafts and colourful indigenous culture. Learn about local culture and traditions and travel and travel to the beautiful Ezulwini Valley and check in to your hotel for the night. Stay at Royal Swazi Spa, Eswatini for 1 night on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 7 – Eswatini to Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park

This morning continue south through Eswatini before re-entering South Africa and continue on to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal for your stay at a lodge in the Kuleni Game Reserve. On arrival enjoy an afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle with an experienced game ranger. Situated on the magnificent Elephant Coast of the KwaZulu Natal region, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is South Africa’s oldest nature reserve and home to the prized Big Five; the lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant. Stay at Bushwillow Lodge, Hluhluwe for 1 night on a half board basis.

Day 8 – Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park to Durban

Board a luxury passenger ferry for a two hour cruise along the St Lucia Estuary in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site. St Lucia is one of the largest estuaries in Africa and boasts the largest hippo concentration in South Africa. Afterwards set off for Durban travelling past sugar cane fields, eucalyptus plantations and traditional Zulu kraals, homesteads, arriving early afternoon with the remainder of the day at leisure and a chance to enjoy Durban’s golden beaches on the Indian Ocean. Day 9 – Durban to Knysna

After breakfast, transfer to Durban airport for the short southward flight to Port Elizabeth where you will be met by your English-speaking guide for the drive along South Africa’s Garden Route to Knysna. Along the way stop for a visit at the stunning coastal reserve of Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth. On arrival in Knysna check in to your small and exclusive luxury retreat situated on the edge of the beautiful Knysna Heads and boasting the most spectacular views. Stay at Head Over Hills Luxury Retreat, Knysna for 2 nights on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 10 – Knysna

After a leisurely breakfast enjoy a trip to the Featherbed Nature Reserve with its abundance of plants, birds and small wildlife. You can catch a trailer ride up to the headland stopping to enjoy the stunning views, or there is an optional 2.2km guided walk through the coastal forest ending with a sumptuous buffet lunch. Afternoon at leisure and a chance to explore the charming town of Knysna; renowned for its oysters, this is the place to try them.

Day 11 – Knysna to Oudtshoorn

Leave Knysna and travel via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo area. Oudtshoorn, known as the Ostrich Capital of the World, is the centre of the ostrich farming industry. Visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour and a light lunch before heading to the beautiful Cango Caves, an enchanting subterranean world of vast limestone caverns, created over millions of years. Your stay in Oudtshoorn is in an elegant and carefully renovated mid 19th century homestead with a lovely rose garden, a pool, restaurant, cosy pub and several lounges for relaxing. Stay at Rosenhof Country House, Oudtshoorn for 1 night on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 12 – Oudtshoorn to Franschhoek

There is an option* of a Meerkat safari at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge this morning; rise early to see the Meerkats emerge from their burrows at the break of dawn (weather dependent). Return to the hotel for breakfast, before travelling through the Klein Karoo area to the picturesque spa town of Montagu and onwards to the small town of Franschhoek with its Dutch architecture and French Huguenots heritage. Franschhoek is known as South Africa’s gastronomic capital, and as well as high-end boutiques and an array of art galleries, its main street is filled with fine dining restaurants. Stay at Angala Boutique Hotel, Franschhoek for 1 night on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 13 – Franschhoek to Camps Bay

After breakfast head for a hop-on hop-off tour in the vintage style, open-air Wine Tram for a unique and leisurely ride through beautiful vineyards, mountain scenery and wine estates in the French corner of the Winelands, stopping at some of South Africa’s oldest and most distinguished wine estates. Afterwards depart for Camps Bay, an affluent suburb of Cape Town with s fine white sand beach and fantastic views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range in addition to trendy cafés and gourmet beachfront restaurants, many specialising in excellent seafood. Check in to your luxury boutique hotel, a hidden gem and peaceful oasis set on a lush green nature reserve with a beach a five minute stroll away. Stay at Camps Bay Retreat, Camps Bay for 2 nights on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 14 – Camps Bay

Spend the day on the beautiful beach or for something a bit more active, there is a little known trail, the Pipe Rack, that starts at the base of Table Mountain and winds its way along the course of an old water pipeline for about 6km to Camps Bay, or make the trip to the Camps Bay African Market to shop for traditional crafts.

Day 15 – Return to the UK

After breakfast enjoy some last minute shopping or sightseeing if there is time before the transfer to the airport and your return flight to the UK. Remove Breakfast included.
