Start the morning in Lake Manyara National Park and the Manyara Treetop Walk for a great opportunity to spot butterflies, birds and monkeys and enjoy a birds-eye view of the forest. This 370 metre long walk rises gradually up to the forest canopy. Walk over a series of suspension bridges with thick netting along the sides and reach a height of 18 metres off the ground. Each of the bridges end on a viewing deck set around a tree trunk where guides are available to tell you interesting facts about the forest ecology and animal life. In the afternoon head off for the Ngorongoro Crater and check in to your safari lodge nestling on the crater’s edge, high above the plains. Stay at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for 2 nights on a full board basis.
Begin the day by descending 600m down to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of exploring on a game drive, stopping for lunch at a picnic site. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact caldera and its fertile landscape of forests, plains and lakes attract huge numbers of wildlife with an estimated 30,000 animals including the black rhino, a large lion population and scores of birds. Return to your lodge late afternoon for a rest and dinner.

At the heart of the magnificent Serengeti National Park is the popular Central Serengeti section. A landscape of vast savannah plains features abundant year-round wildlife; look out for lions and cheetahs lying in the sun on the rocky granite outcrops known as kopjes. Today head out on a full day safari and depending on the movement of the animals in the park you will either return to camp for a hot lunch or take a packed lunch to enjoy on the go.
