A short ferry ride from Dubrovnik (50 minutes) or Orasac, the peaceful traffic-free island of Lopud is the second largest in the beautiful Elaphiti archipelago. Located between Kolocep and Sipan it boasts one of the region’s best beaches, a glorious 1.2km gently shelving stretch of white sand in Sunj Bay.
On the opposite side, Lopud town is situated in a broad inlet with wide pebble beaches; there are numerous cafés, restaurants and hotels in its scenic port area. Lopud is a perfect island for a relaxing break and can easily be twinned as part of a two centre holiday with our hotels in the Dubrovnik area or in Montenegro.
Passengers arriving on flights to Dubrovnik and travelling onto Lopud Island must arrive into Dubrovnik no later than 16:00 to connect with the last ferry departure. Ferry crossings are subject to change without prior notice.
Lopud town sits on the north east corner of a broad inlet on the Elaphiti Island of Lopud. It’s a small port with a collection of terracotta roofed sailors’ houses and a tiny harbour which caters for the ferry trade from Dubrovnik and from the neighbouring islands of Sipan and Kolocep.
A very narrow pebble beach borders the wide bay of Lopud and this charming, unspoilt settlement features a few café-bars and restaurants. 2km to the west and on the exact opposite side of the island is the fine, white sand beach of Sunj Bay, which, given the scarcity of sand beaches in Croatia, is incredibly popular on fine, summer days.
