Sophisticated luxury mingled with rural simplicity
Masseria Torre Coccaro was originally built as a 16th century watchtower to defend against Saracen attacks and has now been lovingly transformed into a luxurious five star hotel retaining much of its original architecture combined with the simplistic ambiance of rural life. An 18th century chapel stands in the courtyard, and a delightful organic vegetable garden provides the hotel with fine fresh produce.
Old haylofts provide comfortable furnished lounge areas, and the charming guest rooms are decorated in a simple rustic style.
An outdoor heated swimming pool, in the style of a lake complete with a sandy beach, boasts a great poolside restaurant, and in the evenings, wonderfully authentic Pugliese cuisine is served in the Egnathia restaurant.
Additional facilities include an indulgent Aveda spa with an indoor pool, cookery lessons, and golf and horse riding a few kilometres away. The Coccaro Beach Club, 3.5km away and shared with neighbouring sister hotel, Masseria Torre Maizza, boasts an outstanding fish and sushi restaurant, lounge area and massage treatment pavilions.
Masseria Torre Coccaro will guarantee interconnecting rooms subject to availability.
